The coveted Swiss Blues Award 2020 went to the great blues artist LILLY MARTIN
The New York-born singer with Cuban roots has long been a fixture on the local blues scene. Lilly Martin grew up in the artists' quarter of New York's Greenwich Village. She has long since found her second home in Switzerland. Her urban blues and soul is influenced by the musical diversity of her origins. With her unmistakable voice and her captivating stage presence, she never fails to thrill visitors to her shows. In 2020, Lilly Martin last released an EP with four songs.
Songwriting, performances and recordings with the renowned Swiss stars Polo Hofer and Philipp Fankhauser as well as her contributions as a vocal coach for "The Voice Of Switzerland" are just some of the highlights in Lilly Martin's career. Among others, she sang backing vocals for Michael Bublé, Kathrina & The Waves or Steve Lee and has released a total of four successful solo albums as well as countless performances at renowned blues and jazz festivals. The British Independent Blues Broadcaster Association IBBA has chosen Lilly Martin's album "Right Now" as CD of the month. Songs from the album have since received regular airplay on all the affiliated radio stations. In addition, the album is also CD of the Month on Radio Swiss Jazz.

THE SWISS BLUES AWARD
is awarded annually by the Blues Festival Basel Association. The award is given annually to people or institutions in Switzerland who have rendered outstanding services to the blues scene as artists or promoters.
The jury of the Swiss Blues Award and the board of the Blues Festival Basel congratulate Lilly Martin and wish her continued joy, health and success.
